Universities, schools and places of worship are asking how they can use Indoor Drone as First Responder (iDFR™) to prevent shootings at their facilities.

Brecourt is laser-focused on partnering with organizations interested in preventing active shooting events. Our platform integrates seamlessly with your existing Security Operations Center. Whether you’ve got a security guard monitoring cameras on site, or you’re working with a larger security company with remote monitoring, our Indoor Drone as First Responder (iDFR™) platform integrates with your system to active the moment a threat is detected. Our indoor drones have an autonomous feature that works in GPS-denied environments with controls that can be easily passed to an operator in your building or anywhere in the U.S.

Based on analyses of hundreds of active shooting scenarios, we’ve seen that a threat draws a weapon :30 to 2:30 prior to entering a building. Most security cameras are already trained to detect threats and are continually making improvements and refinements using machine learning.

If your exterior cameras detect a weapon, your security team activates Brecourt Solutions’ Indoor Drone as First Responder (iDFR) to fly to the threat or block the threat from entering the building. Simultaneously, first responders and your security team are immediately alerted and receive a live video feed.

Our field experiences during our combined 50+ years of active military drone operations is that most threats become disoriented and distracted by a drone’s sound, wind and proximity. Most threats don’t know what payload is carried on drones, so they typically run or surrender.

Many people ask “Well, wouldn’t the threat try to shoot the drone?!”

Possibly, but it’s not as easy as it seems. We’d prefer the threat focus on a drone rather than innocent bystanders. Distracting the threat buys time for people to escape.

Here’s the best part. Our drones not only track threats, but they also can malfunction 95% of weapons used in active shooting events. Brecourt’s drones are the only drones in the world targeting the weapon, NOT the person. If the weapon is rendered inoperable, it buys more time for people to get to safety and for first responders to de-escalate the situation.

As parents, we’re not big fans of drones carrying dangerous payloads since there is tremendous risk to bystanders if pellets, gasses, or other harmful deterrents are used. Our approach is to make it as easy as possible for first responders to respond and for people to escape.
